    Cool Present Perfect: I've heard

    Hello!

Is the use of the present perfect correct here? Could we also use the past simple?

A: I went to Lisbon last year.

    B: Nice: I've heard it's a beautiful town.

    Thank you
    W

In BrE, the present perfect is far more natural than the past simple here. We could also use the present simple.
