Can you say like the following? Why not "I couldn't get the computer to work"? Is the following possible?

ex)I couldn't get the computer working?

Use: "I couldn't get the computer to work"

It is more understandable than "I couldn't get the computer working.'

Other examples:
I couldn't get the printer to print.
I couldn't get the computer to boot up.
I couldnt get the computer to store files.
