    Default Addressing a teacher

Hello, I wanted to ask a question. I'm a little bit confused about how to correctly address a literature class teacher. She's from the U.S. and she holds a PhD degree. Should I call her professor or Mrs. + second name?
    Thank you.

It would be best and appropriate to ask her how she would prefer to be addressed.

If she holds a PhD degree, call her Doctor Surname unless she tells you otherwise.

When this starts to sound repetitive, you can't go wrong with ma'am (pronounced mam).

Don't call her professor unless she actually holds that title.

She might say 'Call me Gloria'.
