Default Spoken english to multilingual adult learners

Hello all,

Does anyone have any ideas or advice on new and interesting ways to practise and improve spoken english? My students are aged between 18-58 and have a wide ranging background of mother tongues. Many of them are very reluctant to speak in front of the rest of the class and this results in a few extroverert charcters dominating.

Can anyone help??????
