definite article with power plant or facility

If I talked about the crisis at Fukushima power plant I would use it without the article, whereas I would use the article if I said something like at the Fukushima nuclear facility. I would very much like to hear advice from you.

I would use "the" in both cases. Why would you omit it from your first sentence? What do you see as the difference ?

I thougth it was the same as at Schipol airport. I don't know what you call the running line below on the screen of a TVset when you watch a programme, it must have been for "that running line". Sometimes they leave things out as in newspapers.
