Substituting for a coach
Can you please help me put this correctly. I'm trying to say that I (being a player for a basketball team) sometimes replace my coach and train the team. Can I say that sometimes I substitute for the coach because he trusts me so much? Thank you.

Yes, you can say that. You could also use "stand in".

You could also be an "assistant coach'
