Hello, here the writer gives a description of monster. But I couldn't understand what he wanted to mean by saying "orbiting above". How can we say this in other words?

Multiple cordlike antennae crisscrossed in the

Try replacing "orbiting" with "rotating" - hopefully that should make it clearer.

The best concept I could give you is that of a chameleon's eyes.
