    Default participle

    "The students who translated the article said it was very difficult."

    Would it have the same meaning to you if I said "The article was considered by the students to have been very difficult to translate."?

    If you are speaking to me TODAY about this, you could also say:

    The article is considered by the students to be very difficult to translate."
