Default on our wedding or at

"I want him to be the best man on our wedding." Why is it "on" or "at" the wedding?

    At.

Or the best man at/in our wedding ceremony.
Or the best man on our wedding day.

It might have been for the language spoken in the 19th century but I don't think it's that old in the series "North and South" with Patrick Swayze staring in it. Would I be correct?

Difficult to say, since I can't understand your question. Please try phrasing it more clearly.
