What is the difference between "counseling with no article" and "counseling with an A?"
The dictionary says "counseling" is an uncountable noun, but I heard some people say "I gave someone a counseling" or "I received a counseling."
Does "a counseling" mean ONE counseling session? And when would you guys use "a counseling" and "counseling?"
Thanks in advance for curing my headache!![]()

I wouldn't use a counseling, but have no real problems with it. I'd say a counseling session, but people often cut words out when talking to other people in the know, so if two counselors were talking, I think it would be OK..
Thank you so much, bhisahab, riquecohen, Tdol!!!!!! All of you helped me a lot!![]()
