If we say "I study a lot these days because of the exams."Is it acceptable? or "I am studying a lot these days...." or both of them are acceptable?

If we say "I study a lot these days because of the exams."Is it acceptable? or "I am studying a lot these days...." or both of them are acceptable?

Both are possible but, given the limited duration of the time to the examinations, 'I am studying' is the far more likely utterance.
