It's dead
Hello!
In informal English, when a situation is hopeless, can we say "It's dead", please?
Thank you

I expect you could.

I am unaware of a situation being "dead". However, you could say "it's useless."
"It's dead" refers to an object that is not functioning or perhaps an animal that is dead? :)

Re: It's dead
I wouldn't use it with the word situation, but it could be used with the situation itself sometimes- the discussions are dead, etc.
