    Default capital of

I'd like to get clear about the usage of the following adverbs (I thought they all work fine in this context) and prepositions:
Bejing is the capital of China. ________ (Actually, Indeed, In fact, As a matter of fact, The fact is) it is the capital/the capital city _______ (of, during, in, or other prepositions?) quite a few dynasties. (My choice:of.)

Bejing is the capital of China. ________ (Actually, Indeed, In fact, As a matter of fact, The fact is) it is a capital/a capital city _______ (of, during, in, over, for or other prepositions?) quite a few dynasties. (The underlined are my choices.)

    Thank you in advance.

    1. All of them are possible; I have re-arranged them into my personal order of preference.
    2. Both possible.
    3. All possible, though I think that of works better with capital city rather than just capital.

When the question says 'dynasty', it is referring to a certain time period or a certain empire/nation?

I have always considered the Chinese dynasties to be time periods - in that case during would be the best choice
