Are these sentences correct:
1-As an actor, I like him. (He is the actor.)
2-As an actor, I like him in comedies but not in serious movies.

Some would insist that it must be: I like him as an actor; I like him as an actor in comedies, but not in serious movies.
The objection to your sentences is that they mean that you, in your capactity as an actor, like him (another actor).In informal conversation, I feel that your 'slip' would not be noticed.
