What's the most suitable tense for this question?
1) How did the television change?
2) How has the television changed?
If I wrote "How has the television been changing", could it be considered grammatically correct, if I would like to refer to its change during the latest times?
The other two sentences are completely wrong?
They're inappropriate in the context (I'm assuming this is an essay about the evolution of television programming). If your essay is about the actual physical machine, the television, then you can use the definite article. If you're talking about the content then we just call it television.
Sentence number 1 implies the changes have stopped. There is nothing incorrect (aside from "the") in sentence number 2 although television has a long history and maybe you don't want to focus on the move from back and white to colour. Sentence number 3 or bhaisahab's suggestion is the best if you want to focus on recent time.
Thank you very much for your explanation.
And what about sentence 3: How has television been changing?
Is it correct if I want to talk about changes that are coming about recently?
