Is "in place" prepared or in the right position?
ex)It's all part of "Hearts in San Francisco," a chrity that raises funds for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. 130 heart sculptures created by various artists will be in place until the end of June. "Hearts in San Francisco" debuted in the spring of 2004....
In the right position.
I disagree with this. How can sculptures be in the right position. "In place" can mean "to exist" or simply "be" somewhere.
130 heart sculptures created by various artists will be in place until the end of June. = There will be 130 heart sculptures wherever they'll be exhibited.
Some examples from dictionaries:
Webster's: b : established, instituted, or operational <systems in place>
Mcmillan: to exist and be capable of being used
-- We didn’t have the systems in place to deal with so many orders.
-- A staff of four counselors is in place to handle calls to the new hotline.
