word
Some people say the word "China" comes from the name of the first dynasty of China "Qin". I really can not understand it. Will you explain it to me in detail? Thank you.

Re: word
Well, take the Chinese word Qin, pronounced ch'in, then add the Latin naming system suffix -a(e), then front the vowel i to [aj], and you get China.
Hope that helps.
