Have you ever thought about immigrating to other countries? There are abundant reasons that people decide to emigrate from their own countries; however, everybody should consider some probable problems that he/she probably confront with them. Some people have a passionate belief that cultural differences pose a lot of problems, but to my mind those are new experience. I would like to mention two major reasons to support my idea of cultural differences.
First, in every culture there are both good and bad points; so it would be nice to exchange the good parts of our culture, and give up the obsolete parts; for example, European people blow their nose in public loudly; while it’s disgusting ,and it’s also frowned on in our culture. On the contrary, European people have freedom of individual, for instance they can kiss each other in public and express their emotions to each other; the important part is that nobody stare them down. I dread to think what would be the reaction of others if a couple kissed each other in public in Iran. I reckon we mustn’t intervene in the others affairs.
Second, as we live in a mono-racial and mono-lingual country, we don’t know how to treat people with different races; for example, I am fierce opponent of racial discrimination of any kind, but whenever I live in a multi-racial society, I could realize what my real opinion is. I mean we shouldn’t flee from new situations because these circumstances help us to know what our feeling and viewpoints are about different matters.
Lastly, immigration will be enlightening and eye-opening for you as long as you look at the issues from every conceivable angle. I believe immigration can be regarded as an opportunity for cultural exchange, and as a pace towards the self-knowledge. I highly recommend Iranian people immigrating to a foreign country at least for a couple of years, because Iran is a special country which is too different from other countries, so if you want to know yourself and the world around you as well as possible, you must encounter living in other countries especially the America and Europe countries.
