4-They sent him to England, to learn English. (so that he would learn Englsh)


Do these sentences work with the commas?
I am assuming that the purpose clause was added as an afterthought.

If indeed the comma is meant to suggest that what follows is an afterthought, then it appears acceptable to me. (Did you mean lent in #3?)
