confusing an article "a"

I am very poor in using an article "a". Please let me know why do I need to use a below

1. please take a deep breath in through the nose

and why I don't need a before "make" below

1. Spread you knees to a make room for your lion hands.

"To make" is a verb, the infinitive form. You do not use articles with verbs.

Because "to make a room" would mean to create a space/partition within a building, as a living room bedroom etc..
"To make room" is a common idiom/expression meaning to allow/provide space for an entity.

"Room" in this sense is uncountable. A house may have 5 rooms, but when you "make room" for something, this type of "room" is not countable.
