I think you mean:

Although I had a minor operation yesterday and need to rest my eyes, I still need to learn more English. So I can't leave my computer.

The above sentence makes it clear that you are keen to continue your studies even though you don't feel well.

Surgery is just one kind of operation. You can use either one.
