Default Which is the correct usage?

    Hi,

    1. If we use the words allow, capable etc in a sentence, it is essential to use the continuous form?

The device allow doing the exercise
    or
The device allow to do the exercise

He is capable of doing the work
    or
He is capable to do the work

2.When we use the word avail, in these sentences, which is in the correct form? I think the second one is in the correct form right?

    We can avail their service.

The service can be availed to us.

    1) Allow can be followed either by gerund or to infinitive.
To be capable can be also followed by gerund or to infinitive.

    Correct forms:

The device allows doing the exercise.
The device allows us to do the exercise.

He is capable of doing the work. (it sounds a little bit strange to me, though)
He is capable to do the work.

    2) The correct form is:

We can avail of their service.
