    Default general prologue

Hi everybody , I have a question of which I did not know the answer:

why does Geoffry Chaucer creticise the social structure of the middle ages in the general prologue of the Canterbruary Tales?

I appreciate an answer , thanks in advance!

I've never thought Chaucer was criticising the social structure of his time.

The prologue describes the pilgrims - their appearance, characters and social positions.

    1. This looks like homework. We don't do your homework for you here.

    2. This is a forum on English language and grammar, not Chaucer studies.

    Best of luck.
