I don't quite understand the following passage:

"[Jane Austen] mostly sizes up the future in generalities so anymore than that must be our own concoctions! I'm not sure that any film maker would create one that we would all approve anyway, so minus any 'morning after' reports from Austen herself about their lives, I suppose we may as well each make up our own! "

I got the first part, but don't understand "so minus any 'morning after' reports from Austen herself about their lives," at all. Could someone rephrase it for me? Thanks.
