    Default help in vowles

    there is a confusion in sounding a vowel for an example ,the word is TIME ,here we give "I" THE ORIGNAL SOUND AND "E" IS SILENT
    on the other side "SQUEAMISH" in this word U .E,A and I are 4 vowels the problem is that we give ORIGNAL SOUND TO THE LETTER "U" Which IS THE first vowel.now what sound we will be giving to E and A and I and which letter will be the silent,
    please give me more information about vowels and what they do when we use them
