Direct Object or something else?
Hi,
'he allows a merger between two giants'
is the whole 'merger between two giants' operating as DO, meaning that 'between two giants' is a postMod realised by a Prepositional Phrase.
Or is only 'a merger' Direct Object and 'between two giants' something else?
Please help!
Thanks

Sorry, but I don't know what you mean by "postMod". Something about a modifier? Normally I think of post-modernism when I hear that.
I any case, I think the DO is "a merger", which is modified by the prep phrase 'between two giants". Is that what you meant?

hahaha I'm sorry for the confusion :)
Yes it was post modifier that I meant.
Thank you for your reply!
