    Default go backwards

Please check out the following sentences.

    (1) All the factories would shutdown and that would cause mas joblessness.
    (2) The economics of national growth would be stagnant.
    (3) Our technology would come to a standstill and wouldn't offer us convenience and comfort any more.
    (4) Therefore, our lives would go backwards to the pristine stage.

Hi, I am not an English teacher, but as a native speaker I have made a few suggestions.

    "mass unemployment" would be better
    (2) The economics of national growth would be stagnant.
"The nation's economic growth would be stagnant."
    (3) Our technology would come to a standstill and wouldn't offer us convenience and comfort any more.
"Our technology would come to a standstill and would no longer offer us convenience and comfort"
    (4) Therefore, our lives would go backwards to the pristine stage.
"Therefore, our lifestyles would go backwards to a primordial state"

I agree on everything except "primordial", which is as inappropriate there as "pristine". The word you're looking for is "primitive".

    Just my opinion... (sentence 4)

I'd write our way of living rather than lifestyles

Lifestyle(s) can mean many things and can be too specific (I have a very hectic lifestyle, My lifestyle is none of your business ect.), where as our way of living is generally used to talk about fundamental aspects of our society-technology, economy, in short what makes the way in which we live possible.

would return to rather than go backwards
Perhaps this is just a personal preference but it just sounds better, no?

    Not a teacher.
