I am a statistician and having a problem to understand that which one is correct:
i) random variable X has ...
or
ii) random variable X have ....
I tried to google both phrases and it came out 495000 and 90400 sites respecively, which means both can be used. Am I correct? If not then which is preferred by you people.
Similarly I would like to know aboutthe followings:
Let X denote
or
Let X denotes
Which one is correct.
Thanking you in advance.
Random variable X has... ("X" is singular.)
Let X denote... (But "X denotes...")
'Random variable x has ...' - singular
Let x denote...' - singular
