Infinitive/participal
1- I saw him to climb up the tree.
2- I saw him climbing up the tree.
Please, explain the difference in the meaning of the two sentences.

♥♦♣♠ NOT A TEACHER ♥♦♣♠
1 tells me that you saw the whole event of his climbing up the tree, from beginning to end; 2 tells me that you were in the middle of his climbing up the tree, and I do not know whether you saw the event from beginning to end.

Re: Infinitive/participal

I imagine the mistaken 'to' was due to a misinterpreted rule (assuming 'infinitve' meant 'to-infinitive' and not 'bare infinitive'.)
Incidentally, the word is 'participle'. The OP's probably confusing it with 'principle' (which does have a '-pal' variant [but with an only distantly related meaning]).

Oh sorry, the spelling of 'participle' were written incorrectly because of haste. There is no such confusion in my mind as you mentioned. Thanks for pointing it out.
