1) We can be generous in our praise for somebody or for what they have achieved, and so can be generous towards ourselves in the same way. On the other hand, when we don't give ourselves enough credit for what we have achieved, if we are being too hard on ourselves, then we are being ungenerous.
2) In this business sense, "to map" is to lay out a detailed arrangement of the facts and figures, often using charts and graphs so you can get a clear picture of what's been happening. In this way you can also map the future, somebody who has a clear and detailed plan of what their future is going to be is said to have it all mapped out.
