Hi everyone,
Is there any difference between these two sentences:
If we were rich, we would offer to help those poor people who are suffering.
If we were rich, we would have offered to help those poor people who were suffering.
If the second one is about the past, shouldn't there be "had been rich " in the if clause?
Can't it be understood in more general terms?
If we were rich (in general), then understandably we would've offered to help them (that time).
