Dear all,

I'm doing a program about O’Neill Cold Water Classic Series Champion, an d The announcer said:
{Ladies and gentleman, we have your new O’Neill paltry Classic Santa Cruz Champion, give it up for Matt Wilkinson from Australia.}

and right after that he said:

{Having battled the raw elements against tough competition at all 5 stops on the series, Shaun Cansdell emerged triumphantly in Santa Cruz as the O’Neill Coldwater Classic series champion 2010, earning him 50,000 dollars.}

Now, I really want to understand the difference between:
1- O’Neill paltry Classic Santa Cruz Champion.
&
2- the O’Neill Coldwater Classic series champion 2010

Who is the winner of the Champion exactly? Matt or Shaun????

I'll be so gratefull if I got to understand that!

O'Neill Coldwater Classic Series Home

It seems to be a series of competitions. The "series champion" for the year is determined by some points system that is based on how the competitors finish in each of the events in the series.

It would seem that Matt won the event in Santa Cruz, but Shaun won the series for the year.
