Default He listen to music

I want to know why we say; "He listens to music." and not "He listens music."

Some English verbs require a preposition, and this is one of them.

Agreed.

Additionally, 'to' expresses movement towards a direction. Consider,

I am walking to the store. (my legs position me in the direction of the store)
I am listening to music. (my ears position me in the direction of the music)
