I wouldn't use field- how about ski slopes? And I would change go.
I have always wanted to go skiing, so I go to the ski slopes.
Go- do you go regularly, will you go in the future or have you been? It sounds a bit strange in the simple present because if you go to the ski slopes, then your desire has been fulfilled.
(1) I have always wanted to go skiing, so I will go to the skiing slopes.
(2) I have always wanted to go skiing, so I went to the skiing slopes.
