Hello,
Can anyone help to determine the correctness of following sentence:
--------------------
Hence, our mail server is running slowly.
-------------------
I guess it should be like
--------------------
Hence, our mail server is running slow.
-------------------
Peter
Running slow seems to be perfect, but at the same time "slowly" also sounds to me good in this context![]()
Hey,
Thanks a lot.
Peter
Both "slow" and "slowly" are adverbs (though "slow" also has other uses). Both are OK in your sentence, but "slow" is normally seen as more informal that "slowly". Which word you choose to use, will depend on which register and public you are writing for.Originally Posted by Peter2005
