Hello everyone,
Would you please tell me what is the word for a place where young people are sent when they are accused of a crime?does it have any difference in America and Britain?
This is what I heard ( remand home ) is it right?

Yes, in Britain it can be a remand/home/centre or a borstal. Borstal is for people between 16 and 22.Originally Posted by zoobinshid

For people who don't pay their penalty fees, are convicted of minor crimes or get acclimitised to more civilian circumstancies before they are freed.
(was my question correctly put???)
