Re: hello Context matters. Are you using the phrase as a subject or an object? My wife and I went out to eat. They gave a free dessert to my wife and me.
Forget you have a wife. Would you use "I" or "me" then? Would you say "Me went out to dinner"? "They gave a free dessert to I"?
