    Default I had you.?

    -ghost whisperer
    -Mom to daughter
But it forced me to grow up. I finished high school. I met your father. I had you.And that's what you'll do, too. You'll put this baby...

When you say "I had you", does it always mean "I gave birth to you" or sometimes "I got pregnant with you"? No chance for the latter?

It normally means 'I gave birth to you'. It can, occasionally, mean 'You were around in my/our life'. This latter meaning is more common when both parents are the subject - Your fathe and I used to live in Uganda, but we moved back to England when we had you.

Be aware that "I had you" ("He had her" etc) can mean "to have sex with", in very colloquial language. Naturally, the context is important.
"I had your mother in the back of a Volkswagen, and nine months later she had you in the back of an ambulance."
You'll hear this phrase in certain TV shows and movies.

(I've never heard it used for "I got pregnant with you.")
