Hello!
Can we omit "rather" in this sentence, please?
"I'd prefer to be a waiter (rather) than a dustman".
(This is just an example. There is no personal opinion in this sentence... I don't want to create any conflicts!)

Say either
'I'd prefer to be a waiter rather than a dustman'
or
'I'd rather be a waiter than a dustman'.
