handlebars
Dear all,
What is the meaning of "handlebars" in this context:
[And a big drop Matt Annetts who sticks on a rock, and goes over the handlebars and tumbles down a cliff.]
Matt is a snowboarder whose drop from a cliff was so bad. I know only one "handlebars" which of bikes! I can't get what does it mean here?
Thanks.

There are also snow scooters, a bit like snowboards, and these have handlebars

Thanks. Actually I saw that on Google but the thing is that the competitor was really snowboarding (I'm sure, I saw him) It was snowboard not a scooter. I know what you mean, though.
There is no other meaning?
thanks.

Re: handlebars
NOT A TEACHER
You're welcome! It must have been a scooter of something of the kind, "Handlebars" are bars to handle something, like a bike. Check on the word "handle".
Have fun!

It could also have been some sarcastic joke from the commentator, don't you think?
