1. Could you help me understand the following structure:
a) It is about time they told us what happened.
b) It is high time you did your homework.
When and why do I have to use the structure: verb to be + time + simple past???

2. Every day is an adverb, while everyday is the adjective, but some books bring the following:
a) I must see him everyday.
b) She goes to school everyday.
Why are they using the adjective instead of the adverb???

Please, I really need the answers.

2) The books are wrong and you are right. The sentences should read like this:
a) I must see him every day.
b) She goes to school every day.

In addition, if you insert the word 'single' and the result is OK, then it's two words, every day.

[1] She goes to school every [single] day.
[2] I wash the car every [single] day. It's an everyday job.
