    Default laws against it repealed

    Hi

Nobody has believed in witchcraft for at least two hundred years; the laws against it have been repealed.

I'm not sure what it means that the laws against it have been repealed.

It means that the laws (which used to be in force) against witchcraft no longer exist.

It does seem a bit clumsy as a sentence to me- something like have long been repealed would connect better.
