What kind of board game in the following convo:

A: Design for five points.
B: Got it.
A: Hear.
B: Got it. Both versions.
A: Love.
You didn't see love?
B: Wow. I didn't think you'd take my lack of board game skills so
personally.

I really can't get what they are doing or what game are they supposed to be playing.

Also what are the examples of board games, maybe I can guess :(
