In "resugence of patriotism", is "resurgence" a "Noun" or an "Adjective"? My colleague says it is a Noun, but "resurgence" describes a 'quality' of the 'patriotism', hence I believe it should be a Adjective.
Please clarify.
"Resurgence" does not describe a quality of the patriotism. The patriotism could be of any quality at all; the only constraining quality that is has in this case is that it is resurgent - and we only know this because it is resurging. That doesn't make "resurging" an adjective.
Why do you think "resurgence" describes the quality of the patriotism?
