    Could someone tell me if this sentence is correct - "What have you finished yet ? " It sounds incorrect to me but if it is then why is it wrong ?

    Not a well-formed sentence. Basically, 'yet' is not used in open questions, but in closed (yes/no) questions, such as

    Have you finished yet?
