    Default make it to

    Hi experts,

Could you pls. kindly tell me what the meaning of "make it to" is?

I saw a sentence as follows:

I'm afraid I will not be able to make it to our meeting

can I say: I'm afraid I will not be able to attend our meeting ?

    what's the difference between them?

    Thank you.

    Toby

You only waited 10 minutes before posting your completely unnecessary "Up" post. This is not the way to endear yourself to teachers here. I suggest that after 24 hours and 10 mins you could make a case for it.

Sorry. Regarding the suggestion on "UP", I will keep it in my mind.

Actually, I would like to know which one is more formal and oral? I don't get the usage of "make it to".

"make it to" means "manage to get to".
    "attend" is more formal.

"Sorry, I can't make it" means "Sorry, I can't come."
