Question the word "by"

is this sentence correct?

"why don't you just go by the office and check it out?"

Hi Razia,

I would say: "Why don't you just stop by the office and check it out?"
That to me sounds better, however I'm not a native English speaker. So if any natives could help out?

I agree that 'stop by' sounds more natural, but 'go by' is fine, and would work well in certain contexts, such as in a car.
