    Default like mine early

    Hi

A woman came to a house of a certain lady. The lady told her to stay a bit longer and drink tea with her:

‘I was about to have a cup of tea,’ she said. ‘I like mine early. Do stay and drink a cup with me.

Does "I like mine early" mean that she likes drinking her tea early?
As far as I know it was after noon, so what did she mean by early? Is there some special time when they drink it, e.g. 4 p.m. so by saying "I like mine early" she meant that she likes drinking it at 2 p.m. for example.

The action takes place in England in 1959.

The traditional time for partaking of tea was four o'clock, though for some people, five o'clock was possible.
