Which is the best English language novel (suspense)?

I want to learn the up-to-date English language, for which I think I will have to read a good English book. If the teachers could kindly suggest a book, preferably a novel where I could learn this amazing language?

That is a very difficult question!! It's very subjective - everyone here will have their own favourite authors and favourite genres.

Personally, I love Stephen King and most psychological and detective thrillers but I have no idea if you would like them nor how appropriate they would be for learning English.

I would suggest thinking of a book you've read in your own language which you liked and then find an English translation to read. You will know that you're going to enjoy it and it will also help a little that you already know what happened.

I re-read Sherlock Holmes recently; they're old stories, but timeless and a truly wonderful read IMO.
