For 1, I would drop the also as I think it sounds more natural without:
Isn't that how you were planning to do it?
2. I'm a bit unclear on what you want to say in this sentence, but try:
Over the years, a lot of people have speculated that if there was a company that should be able to tackle this issue head on, it was ours.
3. Unless time is a major factor, I prefer the following but I appreciate that I'm changing your sentence quite a bit - yours is ok too.
Given the benefit of hindsight how would you have reacted?
